Banking Remote work: Yes Business trips: Yes, ad-hoc office attendance in Vilnius, Lithuania Project language: English Project length: 9 months contracts + prolongations Start: 1.10.2026 Summary: The primary purpose of this role is to lead and enhance cloud-native systems within Danske Bank's Core Payments Platform, focusing on complex software development while mentoring junior developers. Responsibilities: Develop and improve cloud-native systems essential for a major Nordic financial institution. Leverage technical freedom to make and own decisions enhancing system performance. Utilize technologies such as Java, Kafka, Elasticsearch, MS SQL, gRPC, REST, Kubernetes, amongst others. Mentor junior team members and drive initiatives to refine development processes. Collaborate with various departments to ensure software solutions meet business needs. Must Haves: High proficiency in Java and tools supporting Java development. Experience in developing and continuously improving cloud-native systems. Strong ownership and responsibility in delivering structured solutions. Experience with messaging systems, specifically Kafka and MQ. Fluency in English and good communication skills. Nice to Haves: Knowledge of cloud-native architectural and integration patterns. Familiarity with gRPC, Spring, and other technologies like MS SQL, Elasticsearch, or NoSQL data stores. Experience in the design and optimization of both relational and non-relational databases.
